In E.L.A. this month, we will read folktales. Third grade will recount stories from around the world by telling key events in the order in which they happened. They will use the key details and events of a story to figure out the central message, or lesson, that the author wants to share with the reader. We will begin a new book called "Deep Down and Other Extreme Places to Live.
In Math, we will continue working on multiplication facts. We will learn about the Distributive Property of Multiplication, multiplying with 3 factors and solving multiple step problems.
In Religion we will explore how Jesus teaches us to love. We will be learning about the Great Commandment and the Holy Spirit.
In Science, third grade will study ecosystems. We will learn about forest and desert ecosystems.
Social Studies lessons will be focused on the formation of the United States government. We will learn about the writing of the constitutuion and our first President, George Washington.
Please make sure that your child is coming to school prepared each day. They should each have sharpened pencils, eraser, ruler, crayons, sharpener etc.
